Comparisons
Comparisons
Choose this product if you want one compact device for scleral lens application, removal and surface re-moistening, with the flexibility to insert the lens with or without suction.
You may prefer DMV Scleral Contact Lens Remover if you need a dedicated suction tool primarily for removing scleral lenses and do not require an integrated insertion end.
You may prefer the S5 Contact Lens Insertion Tool if you find handheld insertion difficult or require hands-free lens stabilisation, adjustable positioning and an alignment light.
Compared with the DMV Scleral Contact Lens Remover, this option is better suited for users who prefer to carry one manual tool for both application and removal. The DMV option may be more appropriate when a simple, removal-only device is sufficient.
Compared with the S5 Contact Lens Insertion Tool, this option is better suited for experienced users wanting a small, portable handheld device. The S5 may be more suitable for people with reduced dexterity, tremor or difficulty holding their eyelids open while controlling a handheld applicator.
FAQs
FAQs
Can ScleralEase be used to insert and remove scleral lenses?
Yes. The larger end supports application, while the smaller suction end assists with removal.
Can I insert my lens without suction?
Yes. Hold the flat sides of the base without covering the vents. Covering the vents creates gentle suction when additional lens stability is preferred.
How should I clean ScleralEase?
Clean it before first use and after every subsequent use with 70% isopropyl alcohol. Allow it to air-dry completely and ensure the air channel remains unobstructed.
How often should the tool be replaced?
Replace ScleralEase every three months, or sooner if wear or damage is visible.
Can it replace my contact lens solution?
No. ScleralEase is a handling device and does not clean, disinfect, fill or store lenses. Continue using the solutions recommended by your eye-care professional.
Product Overview
Product Overview
ScleralEase is an all-in-one scleral contact lens inserter and remover designed to support controlled lens handling. The larger end holds a clean scleral lens during application. Its side vents allow the tool to be used without suction or with gentle suction by covering the vent holes. Once the lens contacts the eye, uncovering the vents releases the suction.
The smaller end acts as a scleral lens remover. When moistened with sterile saline and positioned against the outer third of the lens, it creates suction to assist removal. A cutaway section can also be dipped in an appropriate contact lens solution and moved over the lens surface to support re-moistening or dislodge loose debris.
Made from latex-free thermoplastic elastomer, ScleralEase is reusable, compact and intended for one person only. It does not clean, disinfect or store contact lenses and should be used alongside the lens-care products prescribed for your lenses. Clean the device with 70% isopropyl alcohol after every use, allow it to air-dry completely and replace it every three months or sooner if worn or damaged.
