Find the Right Eye Drops for Your Dry Eyes

Not all eye drops are the same. Different products treat different causes of dry eye, whether your eyes need more moisture, better tear stability, or protection from evaporation.

Your tear film has three key layers: water, oil, and surface protection. The right product works by restoring one or more of these layers to improve comfort and eye health.

Mild Dryness or Screen Fatigue

Standard Lubricating Drops: These drops replace the watery layer of your tears and provide fast, short-term relief. They provide immediate lubrication and relief from dryness caused by environmental factors or prolonged screen use.

Recommended products:

Drops Don’t Last Long Enough

Hydrating / Long-Lasting Drops (Hyaluronic Acid): These drops are thicker and help retain moisture on the eye surface for longer. Hyaluronic acid binds water and forms a protective layer, helping stabilise the tear film and provide longer-lasting hydration.

Recommended products:

Watery but Still Dry Eyes

Lipid (Oil-Based) Drops: These drops restore the oil layer of the tear film, reducing evaporation.

Recommended products:

  • NovaTears Drops - this is specifically designed for evaporative dry eye and stabilises the tear film without blurring vision.

Ongoing or Chronic Dry Eye

Combination / Advanced Tear Film Drops: These support multiple tear layers at once, improving overall tear stability.

Recommended products:

Red, Inflamed or Irritated Eyes

Manuka-Based Products: These go beyond lubrication to help reduce inflammation and bacterial load. These products are best used for blepharitis, eyelid inflammation, and more persistent dry eye.

Recommended products:

Night-Time Dryness

Gel Drops and Ointments: These thicker formulations stay on the eye longer and provide extended protection. Ointments create a protective barrier over the eye and are best used overnight.
